James 'Buster' Douglas Gives Back

February 11, 2015 marked the 25th Anniversary of Columbus native James 'Buster' Douglas' 10 round KO of 'Iron'  Mike Tyson in Tokyo Japan, to become the undisputed Boxing Heavyweight Champion of the World. The Las Vegas betting line listed Douglas as a 42-1 underdog prior to the fight.

More recently James Douglas along with his manager John Johnson have been frequent visitors at various Central Ohio Diabetes Association fundraising events, primarily the Len Immke Memorial Swing For Diabetes and Celebrities For Diabetes.   Where they have donated auction items to assist in increasing the revenue generated by each event.  

The Central Ohio Diabetes Association would like to congratulate James 'Buster' Douglas on the anniversary of his lifetime achievement and also for his interest in becoming an advocate for assisting individuals in learning how to live well with the challenge of diabetes.

ms consultants, inc. received the 2014 Community Engagement Award for Family Businesses for its contributions to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association.

“It’s extremely important to recognize the accomplishments of Central Ohio’s family businesses,” said Dick Emens, executive director of the Conway Center for Family Business. “They’re the foundation of our community and a key contributor to a healthy and vibrant Central Ohio economy. We’re fortunate to have many great family-owned businesses in the Central Ohio region – we estimate at least 6,000 – and our 160+ members employ over 17,000 hard-working people in Central Ohio.”

ms consultants, inc. has been involved with the Central Ohio Diabetes Association for over 15 years. This has included participating in their office expansion in the Short North, Swing for Diabetes, Camp Hamwi sponsorship, and Celebrities for Diabetes. Thomas E. Mosure, President and CEO, also has a personal commitment to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, serving as an active board member since 1998. As a Type 1 Diabetic, he understands the importance of support and education.

Recently, ms added a charitable component to its annual pedometer contest. The Step Up for Diabetes Pedometer Contest challenged employees and their spouses to a 58 million company-wide step goal. Upon meeting this goal, ms donated $10,000 to various diabetes organizations local to each office with the Central Ohio Diabetes Association being the selected organization in the Columbus region.
