What is Diabetes?
Diabetes Mellitus is a condition in which the body fails to produce insulin or respond to insulin. Without insulin, the body cannot use food for energy. Over a period of time, high blood sugar can result in complications such as blindness, heart or kidney disease, and limb amputations.

How You Can Make a Difference
The Central Ohio Diabetes Association is a local, independent agency. One hundred percent of the pledges raised by the Central Ohio Diabetes Association & NewsCenter Swim for Diabetes will remain in the Central Ohio community to fund diabetes education, community detection, research, youth and camp programs.
